Throw the stone only if you...

I was back in the church I grew up in last Sunday. Everything looked the same; the building, my pastor and his wife, my children church teacher, my cell group leader. But a decade has passed ever since I stopped serving. The friends I grew up with are no longer in the church - some strayed away, some in overseas and some in another church. I was seated at the back, looking at the youths who were serving that day. I was once like them, active in church and always had a part to play in events like this. The younger me would pray for His will to be done and put Him first. The younger me had nothing to lose and God was all I had.

As I was observing the service, a gentleman came late. He used to be a drug addict. His appearance on that day looked like he has fallen back into his old ways. I was so near to making my judgment when I was reminded again to only throw the stone if I have no sin. I was reminded of my own struggle with my flesh and sins, and has repeatedly failed God and returned to His throne of Grace. Is his sins greater than mine? He too probably is coming back to the throne of Grace, to draw strength and forgiveness. Who am I then to throw the stone of judgment? I can only conclude that people need the Lord. Church needs to love these people all the more; be their cheer leaders to run the race well.

Also at that moment, I was inspired to get a counselling certificate. I want to be professionally trained whether in future for hospice patients or the people who are at the brim of giving up.

The now me has so much to grip on and could not say the same prayer I used to say- send me and I will go. I am afraid of losing, I have so much to lose. Ironically, all that I am gripping on is from Above.
